North Carolina is set to welcome a new international business to its growing list of companies, as Veetee Foods, Inc. plans to establish a $35.7 million production facility in Selma, Johnston County. Known for its microwavable rice and ambient convenience foods, Veetee’s expansion to North Carolina is expected to create hundreds of jobs, contributing to an estimated annual payroll impact of nearly $12 million.

Founded in 1986, the company’s U.S. operations have been minimal until this announcement. The new facility will produce a variety of foods, including rice, pasta, and noodles, using advanced technology developed over two decades in the U.K. Veetee Foods’ decision to invest in North Carolina has been hailed by Governor Roy Cooper, who emphasized the state’s strong infrastructure, talented workforce, and business-friendly environment.
