The Research Triangle’s vibrant culinary landscape continues to evolve, with exciting new openings and unexpected closures. Alpaca Chicken, renowned for its Peruvian charcoal chicken, is expanding to downtown Raleigh, adding its 16th location in North Carolina. This new spot on Hillsborough Street near NC State’s campus, in the building that has been vacant since 2016, promises to attract both students and locals alike.

Meanwhile, Otomi Comida Y Cocteles, a new Mexican restaurant, is set to open its doors on July 19 on Brookside Drive in Raleigh. The grand opening will feature live music and special promotions. On a different note, BB’s Crispy Chicken has decided to close its Raleigh and Durham locations, focusing instead on their Cary branch to enhance their brand and offerings.
