In the first game of their final regular season ACC series, No. 8 Wake Forest faced a tough 14-3 defeat against No. 17 NC State at Doak Field on Thursday night. Despite the loss, Wake Forest’s offense showcased power with home runs from Seaver King, Nick Kurtz, and Adam Tellier, adding to their ACC-leading total. King extended his hitting streak to 12 games, continuing his impressive performance this season.

Wake Forest’s early efforts saw back-to-back home runs from King and Tellier, giving them a brief lead. However, NC State’s consistent scoring and a strong eighth inning secured their victory. Despite standout individual performances, including Kurtz’s 21st homer of the season, the Demon Deacons struggled with runners in scoring position, a point emphasized by head coach Tom Walter. Wake Forest looks to bounce back in the remaining games of the series with their top pitchers scheduled to start.
